Advisor of Greenfield Economy Geopolitical Research Institute Taniguchi (ex-deputy minister of finance), also advisor Sai Hiroko (ex-NHK advisor), representative Iwazawa, etc., totally 8 members visited Ukraine.
In the morning, a meeting with National Science-Technological Association of Ukraine was held, and later we are invited to a luncheon including 3 ministers (including ex-ministers), had a deeper conversation.
In the afternoon, we moved to the Japanese Embassy in Ukraine and exchanged opinions with the Ambassador about the situation of Ukraine. 1st day was finished with the dinner inviting the Ambassador.
In the morning, we went to the prime minister office of Ukraine, and exchanged opinions with director of ministry of economic development and trade in a meeting room there. In the afternoon, we exchanged opinions with head of State Agency of Ukraine on (Chernobyl) Exclusion Zone Management.
In the evening, we had double-booking, so a group led by the advisor Taniguchi (ex-deputy minister of finance) had a courtesy visit to the mayor of Kiev, and the other led by representative Iwazawa had a courtesy visit to the minister of Infrastructure ministry (corresponding to Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport). Both groups had fruitful discussion.
In the morning, we visited ombudsman office. Actually, this in an organization playing important role unavoidable when a company want to penetrate into Ukraine. On our visit, the chairman of the ombudsman alias ex-financial minister of Latvia delivered a lecture himself to us.
In the evening, we had double-booking, too.
A group led by the advisor Taniguchi (ex-deputy minister of finance) had attended to opinion exchange meeting with authorized national university of academy, and we are allowed to open our institute’s office within the national university, and we are decided to have meetings from now on.
The other group led by representative Iwazawa went to a meeting with National Science-Technological Association of Ukraine for signing off MOU, and closed the business alliance on that day.
From now on, we will make effort to achieve results not only for the development of Japan and Ukraine, within the large whirlpool including new developing countries such as Myanmar.
