Greenfield Economy Geopolitical Research Institute (GREGRI) has signed off an MOU with Kanchanaburi Chamber of Commerce in Thailand where Kanchanaburi province is adjacent to Tanintharyi region divided by the border, on 19.Oct. 2018. The sign off was done in the presence of Vice Governor of Kanchanaburi province in Thailand and Tanintharyi Region Planning and Finance Minister in Myanmar. The road from the Thailand border to Dawei SEZ is said to be the last piece of Southern Economic Corridor, unsurfaced road at this moment. The upgrade finish of this road section accompanying with the deep sea port will connect South China Sea in the east and Indiana Ocean (Andaman Sea) in the east. This road section between Thailand border to Dawei SEZ is, if completed, from the area between Ho Chi Min to Bangkok there is no need to make a detour from Gulf of Thailand to go around Malay Peninsula to Singapore, very significant to reduce the transportation cost. We will not only share and exchange information with Kanchanaburi provincial government and Tanintharyi region government, but also try our best to get border situation and to make the business exchange for they are important for logistics.
